Day 2 Hiking to Sermermiut

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a guided hike towards Sermermiut, a former Inuit camp, located 1.5 km south of Illulissat. Moderate level walk (duration 2 hours) along the fjord, on a wooden plank path with a breathtaking view of the icebergs on the horizon. The Fjord is full of small beaches of fine, fine sand. During 4000 years, several Inuit tribes succeeded one another in Sermermiut and you can still find traces of their existence. Day 3 Fjord and Whale Watching and Kayak in the evening

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will embark on a memorable iceberg cruise to go whale watching. A chance for you to see one or more of the species that are found in these waters. In summer, it is often the whales that we observe, as well as the humpback whale which can reach 18 meters and weigh 30 tons. At the end of the day, paddle among the fascinating icebergs and observe the overwhelming beauty of the Ilulissat Ice Fjord up close. Being at sea level without any noise makes it an extraordinary way to discover the Unesco World Heritage site. You will often paddle under the incredible midnight sun or during the colorful sunset. The entire sky turns red, purple and orange as the icebergs reflect the beautiful colors of the evening sun.

You can hear and see the massive calvings from afar, as huge chunks of ice break off and hit the water. Eqi Glacier, also known as Eqip Sermia in Greenland, is located 70 kilometers north of Ilulissat and is one of the largest calving glaciers in all of Greenland. The visit lasts approximately six hours. During the tour, the experienced English-speaking guide will explain the nature crossed, the glacier itself and the cultural history of the region.
