Day 1 Arrival to Rovaniemi

Arrival in Rovaniemi, located on the edge of the Arctic Circle, ready to take on the midnight sun hunt. Rovaniemi has outside the winter season a certain calm. Located along the Kemijoki River, it’s a great place to try your hand at fishing or visit a husky kennel, all excited to have visitors in the summer. It is possible to visit the village of Santa Claus, where entrance is free, or the interesting Artikum museum.
Night at Sky Hotel Ounasvaara or similar.

Day 2 Drive through Lapland

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Drive north to Norwegian Lapland via Ivalo. Possible stop at the Siida museum in Inari, the Sami museum. This one is fascinating because it traces the history of this nomadic people who, despite the borders having separated their territories, still consider themselves an ethnic group and have their own parliament. Crossing the Finnish-Norwegian border. Stop in Karasjok, capital of Norwegian Lapland where you can visit the equally interesting Sapmi Temapark.
Overnight at Scandic Karasjok hotel or similar.

Day 3 Midnight Sun facing the North Cape

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Depart north towards Lakselv along Norway’s largest fjord, the Porsangerfjord. Arrival in Kåfjord, passage through the tunnel. Settle in at your hotel in Honningsvåg. Here you are at the northernmost point of continental Europe, the North Cape. In the evening, excursion to the rock of the North Cape. It houses a restaurant, a small museum, a chapel. It is from there that you will be closest to the famous midnight sun: visible throughout northern Scandinavia, it is highest on June 21 and lights up Lapland all night long.
Overnight at Arran Nordkapp Hotel or similar.

Day 4 Cave Paintings in Alta

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. This morning, you can enjoy the sweetness of Honningsvåg, go on a safari to discover birds or giant crabs. Departure south towards Alta where you should not miss the Museum of Rock Engravings, one of the most important sites in the world and whose diversity is astonishing. Try to spot all the animals represented: moose, reindeer, whales and swans are among the many drawings you will discover.
Overnight at Thon Alta hotel or similar.

Day 5 Tromsø, the Paris of the North

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart from Alta and drive along the Lyngenfjord to the village of Olderdalen. Ferry crossing to Lyngeseidet, then another ferry from Svensby to Breivikeidet. You cross the region of spectacular Lyngenalps, mountains ending abruptly in the Arctic Ocean, creating a dramatic and splendid landscape. Some peaks are still covered with eternal snow, adding another dose of magic to the picture. You are now in the city of Tromsø. Main city located north of the polar circle and nicknamed “the little Paris of the North”, this student city is more lively than it seems at first sight. In Tromsø, you can visit the Polar Museum, Polaria, the Arctic Cathedral, or even take the funicular to admire
the city and its fjord from above.
Overnight at Quality Saga hotel or similar.

Day 6 Journey to the Vesterålen Islands

Breakfast at the hotel. From Tromsø, you take the road to the island of Kvaløya. Ferry crossing from Brensholmen to Botnhamn which takes you to Senja, a large island often crossed by herds of reindeer and whose natural park is ideal for a nice walk in the countryside. Continuation to Gryllefjord, northeast of the island of Senja. Here awaits a new 2-hour crossing to Andenes, at the tip of the Vesterålen islands.
Overnight at Andrikken hotel or similar.

Day 7 Whale Safari in Andenes

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. This morning, visit the whale center and discover the different species of the region. Indeed, Andenes is home to a large number of marine mammals all year round due to the currents which are favorable to them and the abundance of plankton in the region. You then go on a safari aboard a boat, accompanied by a specialized guide. During this excursion, you will have the chance to see humpback whales, sperm whales, fin whales as well as an impressive number of seabirds! After this great adventure, drive through the Vesterålen islands towards Lofoten. Passage through Sortland, Stokmarknes. Last crossing between Melbu and Fiskebøl and road to Leknes towards the south of the islands.
Night in a fisherman’s rorbu.

Day 8 Discovery of Lofoten

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Discovery day of the Lofoten Islands, one of the most beautiful places on earth. An archipelago made up of mountains falling steeply into the sea, fine sandy beaches, small fishing villages with their cabins on stilts. Without forgetting unique colors and light. Compulsory passage through the villages of Reine, Henningsvær, Å. Stop at the cod museums of Å or this one dedicated to the Viking era.

Its cathedral with its particular architecture is also worth a look.
Overnight at Scandic Ferrum Hotel or similar.
