Day 1 Discovery of Tórshavn

Arrival at Vágar International Airport and collection of your rental vehicle. Road to Tórshavn and installation at your hotel. Today, discover the capital of the Faroe Islands and its surroundings. Visit the historic heart of the city, Tinganes, where the first parliament was formed in 825 during the Viking Age. This charming little center alternates between wooden houses painted red, stone houses and grass roofs. Also, don’t miss the old quarter of Reyn and its adorable wooden buildings. Take a trip to the small fort of Skansin which protected the island against pirate raids in the 17th century. If you want to walk a little, an ideal walk is to take the boat to the island of Koltur where there is only one family. The island offers a splendid view and you can walk along the cliffs while admiring the landscapes of the Faroe Islands.
Overnight at Hotel Tórshavn or similar.

Day 2 Torshavn and Kirkjubøur

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Also visit the village of Kirkjubøur to the south: episcopal seat of the island in medieval times, the village now has a church, a 900-year-old farmhouse and an unfinished cathedral. The place is full of legends and stories to discover about the island and its inhabitants!

Day 3 The mysterious islands of the northeast

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. This morning, you go on an adventure crossing the island to get to Klaksvík. This small village located on
the island of Borðoy, to the east, is an ideal gateway for excursions to spectacular islands with rugged terrain. Be sure to visit Christianskirkja, one of Scandinavia’s oldest and most notable churches in the Old Nordic style. The cast iron used in the church is over 3000 years old. Take advantage of this day to discover nature and the cliffs, it is in this region that you will do the best hikes.

Day 4 The north coast of Esturoy

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. The discovery of the Faroes is not over. Today you take the road to the island of Eysturoy to climb the Slættaratindur, the highest point of the islands. Culminating at 880 meters, it offers a superb view of the entire Faroe Islands. On June 21, tradition dictates that you climb Slættaratindur to see the sun set and rise immediately on the longest day of the year. Continue north and once in Eiði turn east towards the coast and follow the low cliff. Here you are in front of Risin and Kellingin, the witch and the giant from Iceland, petrified. Legend has it that they were sent to appropriate the Faroe Islands. By tying a rope to the mountain to take it with them, they caused a split but were unable to untie it. According to beliefs, witches and giants are not resistant to the light of the sun, Risin and Kellingin were petrified at dawn when the sun surprised them.
Overnight at Gjáargarður hostel or similar.

Day 5 The pretty village of Gjógv

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. You are now in the village of Gjógv. The village of less than 50 inhabitants is very well preserved and has a refreshing charm. Often praised for his efforts on the plan
environmental and ecological, it takes its name from a gorge filled with seawater that runs from the village to the ocean.

Day 6 The bird cliffs of Vestmanna

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. You return to the island of Streymoy to take a trip to the village of Saksun. Known for its serene atmosphere, it offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Also admire its lagoon to take a short tour of the few houses that have been transformed into a museum. Continue your journey to the cliffs of Vestmanna. From there your boat trip starts: the boat navigates in the caves of the coast, skirting the cliffs, passing between the pillars and rock arches. You are then at the foot of the 700 meter high cliffs where thousands of birds gather: arctic terns, guillemots, fulmars, seagulls, petrels, and the adorable puffins with their pretty colors…
Then reach the island of Vágar. At the end of Lake Leitisvatn is Bøsdalafossur, a 35-metre-high waterfall that dramatically tumbles into the Atlantic. An unforgettable view not to be missed!
