Day 1 Discovery of Tórshavn
Arrival at Vágar International Airport and transfer to Tórshavn and installation at your hotel. Today, discover the capital of the Faroe Islands and its surroundings. Visit the historic heart of the city, Tinganes, where the first parliament was formed in 825 during the Viking Age. This charming little center alternates between wooden houses painted red, stone houses and grass roofs. Also, don’t miss the old quarter of Reyn and its adorable wooden buildings. Done a tour of the small fort of Skansin which protected the island against pirate raids in the 17th century.

Day 2 Vestmanna
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. We leave Tórshavn and head north to Vestmanna, where the Vestmanna Birdcliffs boat tour departs. This 2-hour boat trip will take you past exceptional cliffs and breeding grounds for many bird species. The boat captain will provide commentary on what you see throughout the trip. After returning to Vestmanna, we will have lunch on our scenic drive to Tórshavn. We will stop at the village of Kvívík where we will see an ancient excavation of 2 Viking longhouses. This will give you a little insight into daily life in the Viking Age. From there, we stop at the village of Leynar, a small picturesque village, before driving on the old road to mountain to return to Tórshavn. Along the mountain road we will make some photo stops. Thousands of seabirds breed on the rock wall over 600 meters high. The boat trip takes 2 hours. In the afternoon, private walking tour of the city of Tórshavn, with a local guide. We will visit the historic center with its charming wooden houses painted red with grass roofs. The small fortress of Skansin, which protected the island from pirate attacks in the 17th century, is also worth a visit.

Day 3 Mykines, puffin paradise
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. After being picked up in Tórshavn, you can enjoy the 45-minute transport from the port to the Sørvágur ferry. From there we will take the boat to Mykines. Sailing time is around 45 minutes with stunning scenery and cliffs. When we arrive in Mykines, the group will walk through the only village on the island. There we will prepare to discover Mykines, Mykineshólmur islet and all the puffins. Puffins nest all along the hiking trail. The hike is approximately 4 hours round trip. The hike is rated as “medium to high”. Back in the village of Mykines, we will have the chance to warm up with a meal and a coffee. Back in the village of Sørvágur, you will be driven back by bus to the capital, Tórshavn, and your hotel.

Day 4 Discovery of the east of the islands
Breakfast buffet at the hotel. After crossing the old mountain road out of Tórshavn and stopping for a coffee, we
arrive at the unique settlement of Saksun. This village is located at the foot of a small creek and is on the side of the green mountains of Koppenni and Melin. You will see the seawater lagoon, the old church and visit the 16th century Dúvugarðar farmhouse with its stone walls.
stone and thatched roofs. Here you will be informed about the evolution of the islands and life here over the centuries. Then we will head to Tjørnuvík. The route will take us through the Saksun Valley with constantly changing landscapes along the Dalsá River with many small waterfalls. Before arriving in Tjørnuvík, we will stop at the Fossá waterfall. It is the highest waterfall in the Faroe Islands. Hawthorn is the northernmost colony on the island of Streymoy. The village is located in a secluded cove with towering mountains and a beautiful black sand beach. From the beach there is a fantastic view of Risin & Kellingin (The Giant and his Hag). When we arrive at the island of Eysturoy, we will experience the view from the road below Slættaratindur, the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands. From there you will see the zigzag road that we will drive to Funningur. Our last village visit will be the peaceful and picturesque Gjógv on the northern tip of the island of Eysturoy. The village owes its name to its incredible 200-meter gorge that starts from the village.
